is a Vietnamese vegan gastro project based in Prague.
Větev means a branch in Czech.
Sometimes the word is being used as ethnofaulism - to refer to a Vietnamese person in a mocking or degrading way.
Our mom happens to make pretty damn good peanut sauce for summer rolls. One hot July we decided to follow her recipe, serve it to the world and see. And so the gastro pop up project was born - with branches as a logo and as a food stand decoration. We named it Vietev with hope to create its new and more positive connotation.
Each pop up event, various friends got involved. It became a comunnal project consisting of no serious food experts by any means. Just a bunch of friends enjoying their time: from grocery shopping, taste testing, decorating, experimenting, to the final serving and cleaning.
*Thanks to previously involved: Aloïs Yang, Al Yak Ya, Anatoli Yzma, Anna Ruth/Koruth, Alex, Iggy, Duc Ba, Misha Dinh, our dear brother Nam Nguyen, Sultan and more*
Project took place at different cultural places and happenings (MeetFactory Flea Market, Prague Metronome, Ankali, Planeta Za).
